Periodic Inspection and Testing
Over time all electrical installations will deteriorate. Legislation requires that they are maintained in a safe condition and periodically inspected and tested to BS7671.
EICR inspections are carried out with the following main objectives:
- To ensure that people and livestock are protected against the effects of electric shocks
- To prevent potential fire and heat damage caused by defects in electrical installations
- To ensure there is evidence of compliance with current regulation including IEE Wiring Regulations
- To meet corporate insurance requirements
