As from the 1st December 2022, any Landlord with properties in Rhyl, Prestatyn, or elsewhere in Wales, now has to undertake PIT (Periodic Inspection and Testing) electrical testing in their properties to ensure that all fixed wire electrical installations and circuitry are safe. This PIT test needs to happen every five years, by law.
Established in Rhyl in 2002, the Roberts Electrical NW Ltd team of electricians are NICEIC registered Approved Contractors and are more than qualified to be able to carry out periodic inspection and electrical testing on behalf of landlords in the North Wales area.
The test will check if any circuitry or equipment is overloaded, and reveal any potential shock risks or fire hazards. Any previous defective electrical work can also be identified as well as any earthing or bonding issues.
As part of our PIT electrical test, we will also check mains wired smoke alarms and carbon monoxide monitors too.
Once the electrician has completed the Periodic Inspection and Testing, we will issue an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) will be produced by the electrician. This report has the results of the test and will highlight any issues that require attention, if any.
We are happy to arrange electrical inspections directly with the tenants of the properties to take the burden off the landlord, or a landlord can organise our visit and simply let us know the time and the address.
If you are a landlord and would like to arrange a Periodic Inspection electrical test for your property, please email us or ring us on 01745 591151. We will be delighted to help.
